Title: Reflections of week 26 (unit 4)

Week ending: 8.7.2006

Learning activities and tasks covered this week

This week I took the ferry to England with my installation. I arrived on Tuesday afternoon on the 3rds of July. From Wednesday onwards I have been setting up the installation for the final show.

I had printed colour and black and white iconology images that I glued to the base of my installation. This turned out well but I also had to cut a bigger hole in the base for access to the computer. I have also had to rethink an easier way of turning on and off the computer during the show.

There are still a number of small lingo code bugs that I spent Saturday sorting out. In addition the audio in the video is a bit low in volume so I have purchased a small set of external speakers that I will either suspend from the sound holes in the top of the perspex box, or place on top of the box itself.

It was a bit strange meeting the other online students this week after chatting in text format for the last 2 years during the course. This is the first time we have had face to face conversations and also heard each others voices.

Setting up the installation took longer than I thought and the wweb connection only arrived on Friday to the upstairs viewing room.

My contributions this week

Just generally helping others build plynths for installations.

Identify any ideas and concepts you found difficult to grasp

Nothing.

The most important thing(s) I learnt this week

Looking forward to the final show opening next week.
